Motor für 50mm Wemotec Micro Fan

Hallo,

Wicked4800+microfan. Do you hear the new motor with cheap bearings?

Wicked4800+microfan in flight. Motor burned after 8 flights (produces a lot of hot air!)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2M76_1o25YI&feature=relmfu

240-15-6000 gets very hot on my MPX microjet+microfan but is still okay!
240-15-4800 burned 3 seconds after maiden flight in a LippischP20

Personally I think the bearings of these motors are very sensitive and do cause problems if the fan is not balanced perfectly (which is not very easy because of the one piece rotor-spinner)

One might reconsider to glue a small ply ring to the fan schroud to keep the fan shroud round. It is a bit fragile.

These are very nice fans but I have limmited luck with them. Hope to build a small jet in future with this fan!

greets!

Hi Erik,

you´re right - these are very precise micromachines and need careful handling.

I also reinforced the fan shroud, but with a ring of carbon fiber. Very efficient!

By the way: did you measure the temperatures of the 240-15 and/or the wicked 4800 in running condition?

Harald

No I haven't measured the heat but you can feel the heat coming out of the thrusttube on the wicked4800 which is a very bad sign.

The MPX microjet+microfan and 215-40-6000 I can feel the heat with my finger and you cannot touch the motor for 1 second. Much too hot but it still survived.

Personally i think there is a lot of efficiency to win if an other motor would be chosen with lower kV and with a Spin33 controller. This is a small 5s controller which can fit behind the motor just like 70mm fans. The current will be lower and the performance/flight time will be better. I know there are other manufacturors making innerrunners. Perhaps you can take a look at the vasa fan data sheets for more motor suggestions.

Here a small pic of 2 planes with microfan:D

So hab mich jetzt entschieden (:

Hi Marco

3sx6000kV=5sx3600kV
3s2200mAh=5s1350mAh
3sx27Ax3.6V=290W ---> 290W/5s/3.6V=21.6A

For a 5s setup the voltage will be higher under load and less heat waste= better efficiency. I would not be suprised if the input power will be 350W and warm motor, not hot.

In my Hoellein Voodoo I had a 16/15/4+ 2S+3s1350+F5d4.7x4.7folder+spin33= 560W, approx 4 minutes full throttle flights and calculated 280kmh(!!) and a COLD motor!!

You only need to find a 3600kV motor. Just place the spin33 in the thrusttube.

You can chose the Spin55 too which is very thin without cooling ribs and an 8S controller. On 8s it will only have 10A current draw. The cells would be 3sx2200/8s=825mAh. Thin wiring and cheap packs! This is a very good alternative because you can chose small proppellor outrunners (lower kV as innerrunners). The bigger controllers do have less inner resistance tooans may not need cooling at all.

Hallo Erik,

Markus

Schub passt!!!!

Schub passt!!!!

So, habe grade meinen Interceptor ausprobiert.

Beim ersten Start von mir selber gefurfen... Crash!!!! :(
