Motoren einbau bei Arcus Talent ARF

Hallo Leute,

Hello Nice 87

Ich werde Dir in english Antwort geben. (sorry)

I have had the same problem with another glider that I just finished building.
The motor that I ended up using is the SK3 from Hobby King

http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/...ve_SK3_Competition_Series_3850_3_5_960kv.html

The outer can of the motor is stationary and has the 3 pin plugs at the rear of the can.( fixed) Also the outer can has a taper on the front to accommodate the taper that is often used on a more sleek glider nose. Note , the outside diameter is 38mm.

Gruss Mathias

G'day Nice 87

http://www.skybench.com/index.html?http://www.skybench.com/home.html

Jezt wider in Englisch....You can always set up an account with Hobby King and then follow through with your transaction to the point where you have to pay with Pay Pal. This will give you a better idea on shipping /posting charges and also the exchange rate of Euros : USD. Also when it comes to the page where shipping charges ( options )are calculated, you can adjust the amount $ that appear on your invoice. In regards to import duty ...I'm not up to date on that . In Australia we have no import duty on goods below $1000. (happy camper )
You can request Hobby King to stock this item in the Euro warehouse .This request can be lodged on the forum pages.

Andreas has recommended the Dymond X Max with a 35.2mm diameter ,compared with the SK3 with a 38mm diameter. This is up to you to make the decision on what fits best. I will look at my plans of the Arcus Talent kit tonight to see if the SK3 will indeed fit. However your model is the ARF version which might be different to the kit version.

Hi,

I just maiden fly my Arcus Talent (not the ARF;-)), and installed
the A30-14 Hacker motor, with an RF 13x6,5 carbon propeller.

For me, this is the perfect motor, very powerfull, and quite!
Controller used is the Hacker masterbasic 55, and battery power comes from
a 3s pack 2200mAh.

With this combinatoir, the plane climbs unlimited vertically at a moderate speed.
This is really the perfect match for the Arcus Talent.

Gross,

Eric

G'day Eric

How tight was the fit with the Hacker motor ? The specs show that the outside diameter is 37.2mm, and how did you deal with the cables?

On the kit version , there are 4 triangular fillets of balsa to reinforce the nose. Looking at my plans and holding the SK3 can motor(38mm) against the motor mount ,this would fit nicely. Two of the mounting bolts would fit perfectly with the ply motor mount. The other two holes have to be drilled out.

On the SK3 motor the mounting holes are all on the same radius.

Good luck flying the Arcus Talent

TW

Hi TW,

Correct, the fit is tight, but it works.
Initially, I had problems with the cables, but then I hollowed one of the 4 triangles
which fit the cables perfectly. For the mounting holes, I used only two.
I'll try to make some pic's later today.

Gruss,
Eric

Elektromotor MVVS 4,6/1120 Sport

Great contributions from all.

Kurt, have you got any details for us on the folding prop and Watts of that motor. Nice 87 may also like to know the cost .(has only limited budget)

Having looked on the specs, the motor mounting holes may just fit exactly on to the A Talent motor mount.

Eric ...will be fantastic for some pics of your set-up.
