New Nelson Q40

Hi Mario

2 or 3 guys in our club have the new LSQ500s on order and expect to get them in 3 weeks. Word from Shadel is expect to see about 20800 rpm on ground with typical Pylon props 8.8/9 and 8.8/9.25. That might cause a bunch of good engines to show up on ebay in the 150 to 200 dollar range maybe less. I'll run my old engines until I am doing under 70 secs
every heat.

Hello Denis,

i am on the waiting list for quite a while also. ;) But the FAI fuel version which takes a bit longer than the US / AMA version. The 8.8 series is a 'heavy' prop. Our engines usually can't rev it. So the W series is what is used most. I think first impressions will be available after the Phoenix race this weekend. It's Q40, but i think it will show a similiar difference as we can expect from the Q500 engines.

I think there may be about 10 guys from here going to Melnik this year. We'll see if any bring a new Nelson LS F3D engine. Should be fun.
