In general I agree with all of your comments with the exception Of " buy American" as being the reason that Q40 engines are being resticted to Nelson and Jett. Certainly there are some who would support the decision based on "buy American" but that is not at the heart of it. The heart of it is fear, fear of the unknown, fear of disruption, fear that someone might have to buy a new engine to compete because it might seem to be better. To me all this is misguided and wrong.
As an example to support the above, the new 426 (Q500) class only allows the Jett motor detuned for the class. If Mike Langlois were to manufacture detune Nelsons to fit the rules of the class it would not be allowed. It is Jett only, again misguided.
What if Europe were to say European engines only. This would be very bad for Jett and Mike especially sense I believe Mike's Nelsons are sold mainly over seas, not here.
The 428 class (Q500 Jetts and Nelsons) has come to an end in this country. Our kind of Pylon racing is in avery fragile condition here at the moment.

Hi Micky,
das wird das Ding von Paolo Pampana, bzw. Sirio sein.
Anhand von Paolos Bildern war klar, dass zu den CAD Bildern auch mal eine Hardware geben musste. Sonst hätte man sich die Arbeit ja schenken können.
