I found the Vtail construction to be difficult as well. Alone, the shape of the elevator ends, seemed to restrict full travel. I ended up sanding the corners to allow more space. This however resulted in the control horn mount locations to be further away from the hinge point, which isn’t optimal. I found the kit provided linkage to be too big and clunky, so I adapted the connection with a short segment of music wire clued into the carbon rod and further secured with some shrink tubing. The push/pull carbon rods run parallel to each other. I left the tail mounting screws a bit longer than needed to provide some separation between the two rods. The fuselage end had to be sanded back at a slight angle to allow for full clearance of the control horns. The tail itself was finished with one layer of 25g glass, sealed and sanded. It seems very strong, compared to unfinished wood and only added minimal weight. Wings secured with magnets. Once CG is confirmed, I’ll fix the Bat & Rx locations as well as run the antenna leads outside the fuselage. Wing tip color trim and maiden to go.
