DLE55 start problems

Hello,

my new (<10liters fuel) DLE55 is very difficult to start.
today, I thought I found the problem, when after bypassing the Sparkswitch pro, the engine started immediately.
on the next flight, again no direct sign of ….ignition, till after 10 mins of trying.
once the engine runs, its the best engine you can imagine, smooth, powerful, and never hesitates or shutdown.

any idea what might cause the start problem?

Hello Eric,

Sparkswitches are often the reason of problems. So you recognized the first problem well.
Did you already change other parts like spark or battery pack? Loose contact at power supply?

indeed, spark plug was replaced, battery pack also.
strangely, the engine runs very well once he gets started.
i was thinking maybe about the ignition itself?

Hi Eric,

of course you can´t exclude the ignition itself. Is there no friend who owns the same ignition and could give it to you for testing?
Also take a look at the spark plug connector. There also can happen a loose contact!

Only problems with initial starting and no harm while running?
I would also look at the fuel system, that means choke, carb setting, fuel tubes, filter etc.. The improvement after bypassing the sparkswitch could be by chance.
