Andrea

I am a lover of old RC-1, I bought two Webra 61 speed side exhaust on eBay.de (old version, not LS-Longstroke).
They look similar, but inside are quite different:
One has 15mm cranshaft, 28mm rear bearing and 190 degrees intake timing, the other 17mm crankshaft with 30mm rear bearing and 215 degrees intake timing.
One has exhaust port width of 6.0 mm (142 degrees timing), the other 6.9 mm (150 degrees timing).
I suspect that both engines are mixing of different parts, because the I found the 150 degrees exhaust port (more suitable for tuned pipe) in the engine with 190 degrees intake timing, and vice versa.
Something about the heads: the combustion chambers are identical - same shape and same volume - but I found one without shim (as original) and squish clearance 0,55 mm, the other with two 0,20 mm shims (0,40 total) and squish clearance of 0,50 mm. Without shims it should be only 0.1 squish clearance, not possible.
So I understood because previous owner added two shims, perhaps is not original head (it was modified with lathe?).
I will be glad if some Webra experts could me explain something abouth right timing and squish.
My purpose is to swap parts so to have a one engine for tuned pipe and one for normal muffler, but I don't know if it's the right thing.
Thanks in advance
Andrea
