Hallo Namenloser!

ST4500 successfully for years in scale airplane fantastic power and reliability.
Make sure you don't run to much oil, I have always run cool power syn at 12% and no nitro. starting has always been very easy. BTW I run on board glow that comes in at 1/4 throttle to keep the fire burning.
Tigers are usually run on 10-12% oil and either 0 or 5% Nitro. You are not going to fix the deadstick issue on a 3D plane without a fuel pump, I have tried Perry's before, no luck. One thing you might want to look into is the Cline regulator system, lotta guys with Moki's use it, although my Moki ran great by itself. I personnaly would not use a glow motor on a 3D plane(except a YS of course), you are asking for trouble, one of the benefits of gas is the pumper carb. You might try an OS 4-stroke plug, most guys I know use em in the bigger motors, Tigers, OS BGX, Moki's, etc.
The type F plug is your best choice. I've always put an "on board glow" on my big singles, it seems like the idle was always hard to maintain throughout the flight. I'm sure it was a tuning problem on my part, but the glow kept me from deadsticking while the motor was being broke in. I don't know how old your 4500 is, but you might want to try it to see if it works.
If your motor is dying when you bring it to idle, you might be a little lean on the low end, it's hard to say without listening to it.
this engine was built in Italy and made to run with no nitro and 10% oil
my own fuel 5% nitro 10% super techniplate oil and the rest 85% methanol"
