Wild Hornet

Dear,

It is not so fancy schmancy airplane as other scale Jets but, among others, probably is one of the best airplane for beginers or so.. Or it was 10 years ago :-))
I just visited one guy for whoom I made an Topmodel Ventus 2Cx glider 4.5m. We were talking this and that and there was another guy quiet with big eyes in the corner and he was listening what we are talking about .. At the end he gathered his courage and said that probably 10 years ago he bought an Jet Wild Hornet which is still in the basement.. Full of dust he said... And that he would like to fly it if I would be willing to finish it to key ready... Ok few wors this that and airplane is in may new temporary workshop...
When I opened a box and after cleaning and initial examination I saw there is an classic setting: 2xbattery for receiver, Powerbox Evolution, Jet 1A pneumatic retracts and wheel brakes with all tubes air bottles and valves, all servos. And, ofcourse, one of the first propane start JetCat P80.... As customer desision was to change pneumatic to electro and turbine propane to kerosene start I prepared a new setting according his wish for him...
Will put few more words or pictures later.. after some progress can be seen.....

Wish you a nice evening
CL

Little progress ....
Old servoramen was removed and also old epoxy glue was grinded away. New servoramen von Pichler modellbau was glued on the position and an KST X10 servo is used for seiten ruder, kugelgelenk and fork in the front servo position which is secured with black plastik ring that fork can not fall down from the Alu servo arm....

The wild Hornet was my first bigger turbine jet after a little Ready2Fly Venom DH-112 with a Kolibri T25 and I love it. After two year with it I will start this year with a Jet Legend Cougar. But the wild hornet will be with me as long as it works.

I guess your customer will be very happy with this jet....have fun!

Wild hornet and Hotspot has better turbine possition in komparision with Kangaroo. I had Kangaroo years ago which had turbine position relatively high above fuselage and wing chord line and that was the reason for relatively high torque forward ,specialy at low speed high alfa at transition from idle to full power. If I remember corectly the position of turbine was quite high arround -5 degree..
And yes, as you said, always is good to have this kind of airplanes redy to use :-) For some after work flying....
Hope we will see some pictures of your JL Cougar...

Do you have the same ALU rohr fi 16x2 mm on your Wild Hornet? Is it strong enough?

Sehr netter Kontakt!!!!

Thron,

Could you please advise what was your solution on your Wild Hornet to fix Alu/Cfk main spar in to the wing..?
Was it direct as picture?
I would like to find some simple and safe solution...

@ CarlLazar

Andreas
