Xmodels Stingray 2.9 settings
Dear "Stingrayers", here the final settings for our model:
Main wing incidence: from +1° for maiden flight or if you launch the model by yourself... to 0° inflight for precise acro in strong wind. For thermal flight... not even tried!
Elevator: +/- 10mm measured from trailing edge (rear of elevator) for a "plastic" flight; +/- 20mm for extreme acro. You will find your setup between these values. Suggested exponential: 40-50%. It si normal that the elevator root is 3 to 4 mm distant from fuselage: it is part of the original project, as Beppe Ghisleri can confirm (it will not affect the fast flight in any way).
Aleirons+flaps = not critical setting, choose your preferred values in agree with your charateristics. We put as much as we could, with dual-rates for plastic flights or extreme acro.
Rudder: +/- 40 or 45 mm for any setup.
Suggested C.G. is 108 mm from leading edge, which means 1 cm behind the end of the steel rod.
Wish you all pleasant flights... and don't be afraid for the weight: this profile is not an HQ, and MUST be loaded a lot to fly well. You will see the model will fly "lighter" than it looks like, when is on the balance
